The Stamford Street Allotment Society celebrated a memorable milestone this week with its first-ever Bonfire Night event, held on Tuesday, 5th November.
The evening was a resounding success, drawing a lively crowd of tenants, community supporters, and special guests, including the Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Councillor Paul Donovan.
The allotment site, known for its dedication to community spirit and sustainability, was transformed into a lively hub of activity to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.
Plot holders, as well as voluntary and community organisations from across Ellesmere Port attended the event, highlighting the strong collaborative efforts that have supported the development of the allotment project.
A team of plot holders and supporters catered the event, offering a delicious variety of cuisines—from Indian dishes and sandwiches to sweet treats and more!
Chair and Vice-Chair of the Stamford Street Allotment Society, Phil Hill and Farhan Patel, expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and appreciated the positive feedback received from attendees.
"We are thrilled with the success of our first community event on the recently developed Community & Sensory Garden. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and to welcome community members to our allotment site on Bonfire Night.
As a committee, we look forward to announcing our next event at the site very soon!"
